Great Lakes Elliot Ness

Had one of these at the brewpub last week and picked up a six pack to drink with friends the other night.  Elliot Ness pours a beautiful amber red, completely clear throughout and holds its head well. In the nose, its toasty and you can smell the sweetness of the malts. The taste of this beer is also very sweet, toasty, and grainy, however it is a well balanced beer. The grainy taste lingers at the end. Its a crisp, well carbonated lager. Very refreshing! Its a good beer for those who may not be the biggest fan of hops and bitter beers. A must try at the brewpub.

Interesting fact:
According to Great Lakes, the Eliot Ness frequented the Brewpub’s bar from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes in the bar still evident today.
